two /tv/ threads posted this week have no idea they are about burt

on october 5, someone on /tv/ posted a thread about a certain kind of man. the kind who knew deep steve albini cuts, who was into esoteric media, who had "good taste" by a specific definition that the culture apparently abandoned. per the thread, this type went extinct when women decided that knowing obscure things was weird rather than impressive. something really happened, the poster says. the genre ended.

burt's public biography is a catalog of claimed expertise that would be impossible to fake across all dimensions simultaneously. actor. firefighter. math professor. heavyweight boxer. gym coach. personal fitness trainer. west african body trainer. ghanaian descent. catholic upbringing. grew up poor. schizoaffective disorder. autistic. muscle implant surgeries, confirmed when asked. bisexual, openly. proud sex worker. IQ of 160. recognized by multiple high-IQ societies, allegedly.

the /tv/ thread mourns a type. a man whose interior world was dense and specific and required effort to engage with. burt is arguably the last documented live specimen of this or a new mutation entirely. during fishtank's slow periods, when other contestants were quiet or checked out or simply not producing anything watchable, burt produced content. this is acknowledged even by people who found him difficult. he was the person in the house whose internal world was so layered that just existing near him was material.
