the /tv/ board is once again doing something in burt's general direction

burt, fishtank winner, west african body trainer, and a man who has publicly stated his dream acting role is playing a sweet nice guy who turns out to be an evil twisted monster, is once again adjacent to discourse he did not start and may not know about. two threads. same general neighborhood.

the first, surfaced september 26th on /tv/, concerns the film Obsession and argues, per the post, that a certain scene involving horror music and a sexual encounter would have been significantly elevated if the man involved had been, in the thread's words, grotesquely fat and ugly. the argument is essentially that ugliness in a villain improves the horror. chat, this is the thread that found its way into burt's orbit.

the man has muscle implants. he has stated on camera that his dream is to play the monster underneath the pleasant surface. he is also, by his own account, recognized by mensa, intertel, and the triple nine society. none of this is relevant to the /tv/ film discourse. all of it is somehow relevant to burt personally.

the second thread, from september 24th, argues that a particular combination of people interacting on camera for ninety minutes would constitute, per the post, peak kino, and that anyone who disagrees is a brainlet. the thread does not specify who these people are in the available excerpt. this is fine. the vagueness is doing work.

taken together these threads continue a pattern that has been running for weeks now. /tv/ generates film and television discourse. that discourse, through some process nobody has fully mapped, keeps ending up in the same zip code as a man who masturbated on live television and paused to address the audience about it. the threads are not about burt. they are simply near burt.

people in the broader fanbase have noted that the villain archetype thread in particular fits uncomfortably well with the stated ambitions burt has laid out publicly and repeatedly. he wants the monster role. /tv/ is apparently workshopping the monster role's requirements in real time. this has not been coordinated, allegedly.

anyway. the casting directors of the world remain unaware of any of this.
