burt is not staying in his lane and that is correct

burt is metastasizing. that's the take. that's the whole thing.

a /tv/ thread surfaced today with the subject line ">In fact, I'm on /mu/ right now" and i need everyone to sit with that for a second. the man who won fishtank, who "burted off" on live television while pausing to acknowledge the camera, who produced a music video for a song called goo, is now apparently also on the music board. this is not a crisis. this is correct.

chat, the goo song music video dropped in april and people treated it like an embarrassing footnote. it wasn't. it was the first indication that burt understands something about content that most people with actual budgets do not, which is that commitment is the entire product. burt does not do bits halfway. he doesn't even do the weird stuff halfway. that's why people can't stop talking about him months after the tank closed.

the lore keeps compounding because burt keeps adding to it without appearing to try. he said he is on /mu/ right now. he said it in a way that warranted a thread. meanwhile actual musicians with pr teams and rollout strategies are not generating /tv/ threads about anything.

the credentials discourse has been running since june. the films keep surfacing. the quotes keep circulating. every time a new /tv/ thread about someone else pops up, burt is in the replies as a reference point, as the metric, as the guy you compare the situation to. that's not a fanbase. that's cultural infrastructure.

he said his dream acting role is playing a nice guy who turns out to be an evil twisted monster. he has schizoaffective disorder and an alleged iq of 160 and muscle implants and a west african personal training certification and a goo song. none of these facts contradict each other in his specific case. that's the thing people keep missing. burt is not a collection of bits. he's just a guy, and the guy happens to be like that.
