the /tv/ burt orbit just quoted tolkien and nobody is sure what to do with that

three things surfaced in the burt discourse window today. none of them are from burt. all of them are, allegedly, about burt.

chat, the /tv/ catalog has been running a parallel documentary for months now. most of it is noise. some of it is not. today we lay out the receipts and let you decide which is which.

1. the cheerleader thread. per the /tv/ catalog as of august 25, a thread titled "THE CHEERLEADER WILL IN FACT, NOT BE SAVED" appeared in the burt discourse window. this appears to be a direct variant of the "YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED" thread that surfaced august 12, already logged in the timeline. the swap from unnamed subject to "the cheerleader" is the only modification. the thread offers no further context. it did not need to.
2. the bilbo baggins thread. also surfacing august 25 on /tv/, a thread opens with the full bilbo baggins speech from the fellowship of the ring. the one about feeling thin. "stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread." bilbo is talking about the ring hollowing him out. the thread appears adjacent to ongoing burt discussion. the connection between a man with documented muscle implant surgeries and a hobbit describing his own body as insufficiently substantial is either very intentional or a complete coincidence. the thread does not clarify which.
3. the football coach incident. dexerto reported august 23 that a high school football coach was fired after a clip appeared to show him kicking a football that struck one of his own players in the groin. dexerto describes the contact as "one in a million." the story has no documented direct link to burt. however it surfaced in the same monitoring window, and burt's stated resume includes firefighter, math professor, and heavyweight boxer, so the general category of "sports authority figure caught on camera doing something he cannot explain" does live in adjacent territory. this one is the loosest thread. it is included because the receipts format demands honesty about what we have.

taken individually, none of these are much. the cheerleader thread is a variation on an established bit. the bilbo quote is a quote. the football story is a football story.

taken together, per the pattern this orbit has maintained since at least july, it is a continuation of something the /tv/ catalog has been doing with burt's image for two months: finding external texts and placing them next to him until the juxtaposition does the work.

whether the work is being done intentionally or whether the algorithm of collective attention just keeps landing here is, genuinely, an open question. the threads do not sign their names.

anyway. butter scraped over too much bread. that one's going to stick.
