the line held for a decade. it did not hold for rob reiner.

a thread surfaced august 13 on /tv/ laying out what it frames as one of the more specific political collapses in recent streamer memory. per the post, the subject in question was apparently a "hardcore drumpf supporter" through years of insults, outrage, and general chaos. the thread claims trump then tweeted that rob reiner deserved to die. and according to the post, whoever this is about had a meltdown and cried live on camera.

chat, you have to appreciate the precision of that.

not the muslim ban. not the classified documents. not any of the hits you might expect to finally do it. rob reiner. the director of this is spinal tap and the princess bride. that was the one.

now i am not saying what this person's politics are or were, because the thread is a /tv/ thread and i have a responsibility to type the word allegedly. allegedly. but if you have followed burt's lore at all, the idea that he contains genuine sincere political convictions sitting right next to a gorilla nest fantasy and a live masturbation habit and a claim that mensa personally recognizes him is not a surprise. it is in fact extremely load-bearing to who he is as a figure.

separately, the august 12 thread just posted "YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED" with no context. which is either a burt quote, a threat, or both. the lore grows.

the august 11 thread is defending something oscar-adjacent that it claims doesn't deserve its bad reputation, arguing the oscar itself ruined the perception. i am watching this orbit very carefully.

the point is this. burt has always been most interesting when the content is not a bit. the burting off was not a bit. the feelings about ted were not a bit. and if a trump tweet about rob reiner is what finally cracked him on camera, that is not embarrassing. that is just a person. a very specific, schizoaffective, west african body trainer person, but a person.

anyway. rob reiner has never been more powerful than he is right now.
