Bam Margera's Parents Go on Record About That One Stunt, and Bashir Wants to Talk About God

There are weeks when nothing happens. The week of October 5 was not one of them. Two distinct threads emerged from the Bam Margera news cycle, and this correspondent has reviewed what the record shows.

The Parents Interview

What we know. According to a piece published October 12 by MyCBS4, April and Phil Margera gave an interview in which they identified the specific Jackass stunt that still, reportedly, annoys them. The outlet does not appear to specify which stunt. What is confirmed is that Bam's parents spoke on the record, which is itself notable given the years of public turbulence surrounding their son's well-being.

What we don't know. The full context of the interview, which stunt they named, and whether this is tied to any promotional effort or was an unsolicited reflection. April and Phil have occasionally commented publicly on Bam's life, but an interview framed around a specific grievance with a Jackass bit is a distinct thing.

The Bashir Conversation

What we know. A 4chan /tv/ thread dated October 5 flagged a Kick stream in which Bam Margera, currently the announced host of Fishtank Season 5, was shown in conversation with a user identified in the thread as Bashir, described there as a "peoples champion" from Season 5. The thread characterizes the exchange as a conversation about religion. The stream appears to have taken place on the Kick channel seishinbushi.

What we don't know. How long the conversation ran, what specifically was said, whether this was a planned appearance or an organic drop-in, and what Fishtank production, if any, had to do with it. A Fishtank host talking theology with a contestant in the weeks before a season airs is an odd enough beat to log, but the record here is thin.

Why any of this matters. Bam's Season 5 hosting role marks the first Fishtank season without Sam Hyde in a full-time capacity. Every clip, every interview, every Kick appearance is functioning, at this point, as an audition in the public eye for a job he already has. History will record whether the discourse decided that was enough.
