westcol spent june calling out scammer influencers. october had other plans.

sometime around june 20th, a youtube video titled "westcol le tira a los influences estafadores" landed in the algorithm. westcol, per the title, was going after scammer influencers. the kind who push shady products, run obvious grifts, use their audience as a conversion funnel for whatever garbage brand will write them a check. standard content, the kind that gets clipped and shared approvingly. good lore, honestly.

nobody flagged it as a major moment at the time. it was june. westcol was doing westcol things. the video did its numbers and mostly settled into the back catalog.

then october happened.

by september, westcol's name was being actively harvested by seo spam operations indexing alleged clip content. by early october those campaigns had jumped to international domains. by october 9th, per our monitored sources, the spam had reached a russian-language platform. chat, the trajectory on this one has been relentless.

so here is where it gets weird. a video that allegedly shows westcol drawing a line against influencer fraud sits in his back catalog from june. and in october, his name is the vehicle for exactly the kind of low-grade internet scam architecture he was apparently railing against four months ago. we are not saying the universe has a sense of humor. we are just noting the sequence of events and letting you sit with it.

the june video itself, per the google news pickup, appears to be a standard youtube callout format. westcol has done these before. he has the audience to make them land. what specifically he said about which influencers, and whether any of it connected to specific names or incidents, is not clear from the available signal, so we are not going to speculate. the title says what it says.

what is clear is that the video is now getting recirculated in the context of a news cycle that has included a robot knocking him out on stream, a 'truth' video about his business partner camilo cifuentes, and a leaked clip seo campaign that apparently will not stop finding new geographic real estate to colonize. this is a dense arc. this is his most complicated content calendar of the year and he did not schedule any of it.

the irony is not subtle. the man is on record, allegedly, firing at the grift economy. the grift economy responded by putting his name in fullwidth unicode characters on spam domains across three continents. there is no lesson here. this is just what happens when you are big enough that your name becomes infrastructure for other people's schemes.

the june video is still up. the spam is still spreading. the robot clip has been picked up by international outlets. westcol is presumably still streaming on kick.

anyway. turns out calling out the scammers does not make you immune to becoming their content.
