trisha paytas reportedly considered running for congress and honestly the lore has fully left the atmosphere
per a january report, the woman who has a benihana signature order and played a role on euphoria looked at the 2026 congressional map and said 'yeah maybe'
chat, we need to talk about something that slipped through the cracks while everyone was busy debating the benihana menu item.
back in january, fox 13 tampa bay reported that trisha paytas was considering a 2026 congressional bid.
a congressional bid.
as in: the house of representatives. washington d.c. c-span. a lanyard.
the report did not indicate which district, what platform, or how far the consideration actually went. it was described as a consideration. allegedly. per the reporting.
but the timing here is worth sitting with. this was january 2026. by may she was on the euphoria set allegedly improvising lines. by june 1st she had a signature dish at benihana. the congressional arc, if it ever truly existed, appears to have been quietly replaced by several other arcs in rapid succession.
this is not unprecedented trisha behavior. the lore has always moved faster than any single institution can process. celebrity big brother couldn't hold her in 2017. frenemies couldn't hold her in 2021. it would be genuinely surprising if the united states congress was going to be the thing that finally stuck.
what the fox 13 report does not clarify is whether this was a serious exploratory moment, a bit, or something that exists in the quantum space between the two that trisha has occupied for most of her career.
her campaign slogan writes itself and we will not be doing that here.
what we will note is that the filing deadlines have passed and there is no follow-up reporting indicating she pulled any ballot paperwork. so for now this sits in the timeline as: considered it. did not do it. got a benihana order instead.
new arc dropped and then immediately ended, apparently.
anyway. the congressional seat was the only winner here.
