Sam Hyde is cosplaying Andrew Tate and the internet is apparently fine with it.

Darlings, a thread surfaced August 28th on /tv/ asking, flatly, when Hyde graduated into the "E-Daddy" archetype. No further elaboration needed. The question answers itself if you've watched even twenty minutes of Fishtank.

Here's the thing: the Goldstriker character, per multiple clips from seasons past, dispenses life advice of genuinely questionable validity, tells broke young men they need discipline, and occasionally destroys kitchen cabinets with his bare hands to illustrate some point about masculinity. He allegedly admitted to a fish named Jon that he'd "pissed away" all his money on clothes, cars, and women. A parable for our times. He then, presumably, kept going with the life coaching.

This is the E-Daddy pipeline in its purest form: arrive as chaos agent, stay as reluctant mentor figure, monetize the parasocial affection of men who want someone to tell them to do push-ups. Hyde has been running this play for a while now, the thread just finally named it.

What makes it interesting, and by interesting I mean deeply funny, is that the Goldstriker persona is explicitly fictional. Hyde is performing a character who gives real advice that real people are genuinely absorbing. The manipulation is structural. Allegedly. And if this feels familiar, it's because the Tate comparison isn't incidental. Jon reportedly admired Tate deeply, which is exactly the audience Hyde was calibrating for.

The audacity of building a fake broke millionaire character who lectures fish about wealth. We love the commitment.
