Hasan Piker Compared Jewish Voters to the KKK. Then He Said He Doesn't Trust Ilhan Omar's Defense Story. Happy Halloween.

Per reporting from the Times of Israel and Jewish Insider, Piker allegedly likened suburban Michigan Jewish voters to white supremacists in an online rant. Oh, and he's apparently not buying Omar's explanation for her federal probe either. A week, darlings.

The audacity, as they say, does not rest.

According to reporting from the Times of Israel and Jewish Insider published October 30, Hasan Piker allegedly compared Michigan Jewish voters to the Ku Klux Klan during an online rant, with Jewish Insider specifically framing the remarks as equating suburban Jewish voters to white supremacists. Per those outlets' accounts, the comments arrived in the thick of campaign season, timed to land roughly one week before Abdul El-Sayed faces Michigan voters in his Senate race. Impeccable timing, truly.

Piker has not, as of this writing, issued a denial that qualifies as a denial. Darling, that is not a denial.

The Context, Which Does Not Help

Let's set the stage. El-Sayed has already spent the past week absorbing criticism for being seen on stage with Piker at a Minneapolis event. Amy Klobuchar, Angie Craig, and a significant slice of the House Democratic caucus have all been quietly or loudly horrified by the association. Now, allegedly, the streamer at the center of all that controversy has compared a voting bloc El-Sayed needs in Michigan to one of the most recognizable symbols of American racial terrorism.

And if this feels familiar, it is because the entire Jennings lawsuit exists because Piker claims a clip was edited to make it sound like he called for racial violence against a specific group. The irony of now being accused, per reporting, of likening another group to the KKK is a circle so complete it practically draws itself.

Jewish Insider's framing was specific: suburban Jewish voters, the kind who swing close Michigan elections, are the ones allegedly being compared here. Michigan. Where El-Sayed is on the ballot. We wish El-Sayed strength in this trying time of someone else's making.

The Reason Magazine piece published the same day also noted that Piker's $72.5 million defamation suit against Scott Jennings is legally complicated, leaning on the argument that Jennings presented an allegedly manipulated clip as real. Courts tend to look at whether the plaintiff is a public figure first, and Piker, who has spent two weeks doing campaign events across multiple states and appearing in the BBC, the Times of India, and TMZ in the same news cycle, is not going to win a private-citizen argument. Keep receipts on that one.

The Omar Problem, From Inside the House

Separately, and arguably just as damaging, News24 reports that Piker has said on stream that he does not really have faith in Ilhan Omar's fraud defense story, which he described as something she has been cooking up. Per the report, this was not a throwaway aside. He elaborated.

Omar, who appeared alongside Piker at the sold-out Minneapolis event last Monday, is currently navigating a federal probe, the specifics of which Piker's own lawyers would probably prefer he not editorialize about on a platform with hundreds of thousands of concurrent viewers. And yet.

Publicly undercutting the legal narrative of a sitting congresswoman who just shared a stage with you and absorbed significant political fallout for doing so is a move. It is a choice. We are not here to say it is the wrong choice, because the receipts will sort that out. But the optics of Piker distancing himself from Omar's defense story while Omar's colleagues are still taking heat for associating with Piker are, to put it gently, a journey.

The question Piker's critics will now ask is whether he is an asset to any of the campaigns he is touring for, or whether he is a chaos variable who raises money, drives turnout among a specific demographic, and then generates three separate news cycles that his allies have to manage. The Oklahoma Democrat who raised $32,000 in a single stream probably has one answer. El-Sayed's campaign manager probably has another.
