Bam Margera Is Apparently Looking the Best He Has in Years, and the Internet Has Opinions

Eight days ago, Bam Margera was hospitalized following a kayak cliff-dive. On Wednesday, BroBible published a piece declaring he looked "better than he has in decades" after footage circulated of him shredding in New York City alongside Tony Hawk. The internet, characteristically, has not been quiet about it.

The dominant reaction across comment sections and social platforms has been something close to genuine relief. Viewers who have tracked Margera's health struggles over the past several years responded to the BroBible framing with what can only be described as cautious enthusiasm, many noting that the contrast between the October 15 hospitalization and the October 19 skate footage is difficult to process in real time. That a man could go from a hospital to the floor of Wall Street on a skateboard within less than a week struck a significant portion of the audience not as recklessness but as, somehow, encouraging.

A separate contingent was less sanguine. Sources who requested anonymity because the group chat is private described the optics of the cliff-dive-to-NYSE pipeline as confusing at best, arguing that the speed of Margera's public reappearance raised questions rather than answered them. This correspondent notes that those concerns circulated without any accompanying medical specifics, remaining largely in the register of vague unease.

There was also a contingent focused entirely on the skating itself, largely indifferent to the health narrative. For this group, the footage was simply evidence of technical ability that, in their assessment, has not degraded. Several skating-adjacent communities pointed to specific moments in the clips as proof that Margera's board work remains legitimate by any meaningful standard, not merely by the lowered bar of someone who has been through what he has been through.

Sitting underneath all of it, quietly, is the Fishtank Season 5 context. Margera is the announced host. His public arc from Season 4 cameo to confirmed host to hospitalized to visibly healthy in the span of a few months has given his audience a story with more plot than most reality formats manufacture deliberately. Whether that arc holds is a question nobody in the current discourse is willing to answer.

And yet the BroBible headline is doing real work out there. "Better than he has in decades" is the kind of phrase that lodges. History will note that the internet, which has spent years anticipating the worst for Bam Margera, spent at least one Wednesday hoping it was wrong. What that says about all of us is a matter this publication will leave to the reader.
