Bam Margera Has Moved On. The Internet Should Take the Hint.

Bam Margera is talking about Darby Allin's engagement. Not Steve-O. Not Johnny Knoxville. Not the movie he wasn't in. Darby Allin.

According to a Yahoo report from June 25, Margera commented publicly that AEW star Darby Allin is getting married. That is the story. A man who spent most of 2026 being written about in terms of courtrooms, addiction, and fractured friendships paused to share news about a professional wrestler's romantic life. The discourse, predictably, did not know what to do with this.

It should.

There is a version of Bam Margera that the internet has decided is the only permissible one: the cautionary tale, the man defined entirely by what went wrong with Jackass, the figure who exists only to confirm whatever narrative you brought to the article. That version is easier to write about. It is also, increasingly, not the version that is actually operating out in the world.

The Fishtank hosting announcement happened in March. The Season 4 appearance, where production installed actual skateboard ramps in the living room and audiences got to send him messages in real time, happened before that. Whatever Bam Margera is now, it is not someone sitting in amber waiting for the Jackass franchise to acknowledge him. He is, by available evidence, doing other things. One of those things was apparently keeping up with AEW and knowing that Darby Allin has a fiance.

This is not a redemption arc. This correspondent is not in the business of declaring anyone redeemed. But there is a difference between a person rebuilding and a person who has simply been replaced as the subject of their own story by everyone else's takes about them.

The gap between those two things is where most of 2026's Bam coverage lives. And it is a wide gap.

History will note that while entire editorial calendars were organized around a film he did not appear in, the man himself was talking about weddings. What that says about us, as an audience, is worth sitting with for longer than one news cycle.
