A Second Indian Newspaper Has Now Covered His Drama. This One Is About a Firing Squad.
The Times of India ran the HasanAbi clash. NDTV ran the other one. A pattern is forming.
There is a Twitch streamer whose controversies have now, twice in two weeks, cleared the editorial bar at major Indian news outlets. NDTV Sports was first, on October 10, with the stay-at-home-mom remark. The Times of India followed, also on October 10, with the HasanAbi argument over whether the Pentagon should livestream the execution of Nidal Malik Hasan by firing squad. Two papers, two incidents, same fortnight.
For the record, the streamer in question is Asmongold. HasanAbi called the planned execution "gross" and "barbaric" on stream. Asmongold, per the Times of India's account, disagreed. The specifics of that disagreement have already been documented here. What had not been documented is that a newspaper with a circulation in the tens of millions apparently found it printworthy.
