xQc's 'Both Sides' Meme Defense Is Lazy and Hasan Knows It

The precise framing, per documents reviewed by this publication, appears to have been something close to: if Hasan, a leftist, can make Kirk memes, why should xQc catch heat for making Floyd memes? Now, as of September 28, Hasan has responded, with a clip surfacing on LSF showing him engaging that exact logic.

Here is the problem with xQc's framing. Charlie Kirk is a living public figure who has spent years inserting himself into political combat. George Floyd was a man who died on camera. These are not equivalent targets, and treating them as such because they both appeared in memes is the kind of reasoning that sounds airtight for about four seconds before it collapses. Symmetry only works when the things being compared are actually symmetric.

That said, Hasan is not exactly an innocent bystander in the streamer-beef-disguised-as-political-commentary pipeline. He built a significant portion of his brand on the exact kind of reactive dunking he is now critiquing. The xQc-Hasan feud has been relitigated so many times that LSF could run it on a cron job. Every few weeks, one of them says something, the other responds, clips surface, Reddit argues about media literacy for 48 hours, and nothing changes.

What is actually worth paying attention to here is that xQc reached for a whataboutism defense instead of just owning the bit or walking it back. That choice tells you something.
