The genuinely interesting thing buried in all of this is that xQc is staking out a position that is not, actually, incoherent on its face. The argument that consumer-facing smart doorbells create diffuse, poorly secured surveillance networks while infrastructure-level camera systems at least operate with some regulatory accountability is a real debate that people with actual expertise have.
