A creator whose subscriber count has lapped every competitor on the platform just brought on a new executive to run his TikTok vertical, according to a report from Indian Television Dot Com published July 28. The incoming executive: Anton Pirisi, now confirmed as head of TikTok for the operation in question.

This correspondent will not pretend the appointment is incidental. TikTok has been the one major distribution surface where the empire's grip has looked comparatively loose. A dedicated executive hire, structured enough to generate a press item, suggests the expansion is deliberate and not finished. The name behind all of this, should you have somehow missed it: Jimmy Donaldson, who you may know as MrBeast. History will note he was also, as of last week, a married man. But the operation does not stop for honeymoons. It apparently does not stop for anything.
