Scott Jennings Wants Fox News to Sue Hasan Piker. Also, Wisconsin Has Regrets.

Piker allegedly called the network 'Rape TV,' a CNN commentator declared it legally actionable, and Francesca Hong would very much like to discuss something else now.

Darlings, we start today already mid-collision. Hasan Piker, per Mediaite's reporting, called Fox News "Rape TV" on stream, and Scott Jennings would like a word, a lawyer, and probably a whole courtroom about it.

Jennings went on the very network in question and told his hosts it was, quote, "time to sue" Piker over the remark. The audacity of fighting back on this particular channel, Scott. No specific legal action has been filed as of this writing, and it is worth remembering that "time to sue" and actually suing are two entirely different destinations on the map of consequences. Piker has arrived at the threat stage before. He tends to be fine.

What Piker actually said, and in exactly what context, has not been fully aired in the coverage, so we will note it as alleged and per the clip that apparently circulated enough to land a CNN contributor on primetime about it. What we can confirm is that Fox News, a network that has spent the better part of two months putting Piker in segments ranging from "does he run the Democratic Party" to "is he a Cuba spy," is now also the network that wants to take him to court. A journey.

And if this feels familiar, it's because the cycle here is almost clockwork: Piker says a thing, a conservative outlet escalates it, Piker gets more Google searches, and someone's lawyer gets a phone call that probably goes nowhere. Keep receipts, but keep perspective too.

Meanwhile, up in Wisconsin, Francesca Hong is doing what candidates do after a streaming appearance generates more heat than fundraising: she is downplaying it. According to Fox News, Hong told reporters she does not "endorse" everything Piker says, which, darling, that is not a denial so much as it is a very careful sentence construction. Her appearance on the stream, which we covered when the 9/11 clip resurfaced and again when Jewish Insider ran their piece, is now something she is actively putting distance between herself and. Allegedly the word she is reaching for is "complicated."

The Hong situation is a lesson the progressive political lane keeps having to relearn. Piker's stream reaches real people, raises real money, and also generates a Fox News package and a distancing statement within roughly two weeks. That is the full product. You do not get to purchase only the first half.

Separately, Abdul El-Sayed got a Time Magazine profile framing his Michigan Senate run as a campaign against both parties, which is at minimum a more dignified rollout than what Hong is currently navigating. The piece does not appear to mention Piker directly, but the political terrain it describes is exactly the one Piker has been mapping for months from behind a camera and a ring light.

We wish Scott Jennings strength in this trying time of his own making, and we wish Francesca Hong a news cycle that is slightly less instructive about the terms and conditions of progressive internet politics. Neither is coming.

My loves, if there is a lawsuit, MAFKR will be there with the filing date, the docket number, and a very detailed breakdown of who benefits from the press coverage. Spoiler: it will not be Fox News.
