Darlings, the funniest sentence published on August 22, 2026 was uttered by a Fox News contributor who sat in front of cameras and said, per Yahoo's report, "Hasan Piker... I can't stop talking about him." That man was Hugh Hewitt. And he was not kidding.

What Hugh Hewitt said. Hewitt told Fox News, according to multiple reports out today, that Democrats have "become the party of Hasan Piker." He also, apparently without irony, copped to being constitutionally unable to stop discussing the man. The self-awareness arrived very late, but it arrived.

What Joe Concha said. Over at the Washington Examiner, Fox contributor Joe Concha went with "maniac" as his descriptor of choice, per today's piece, specifically marveling that "Democrats actually campaign with this maniac." Piker, for his part, has been publicly daring Democrats to defend him, also per the Examiner today. He is not hiding.

What the New York Daily News said. An op-ed published today calls Piker "hate-filled" and argues he has "no place on campus." This is notable because the Daily News is not Fox News, and the campus angle lands differently now that the University of Washington already cancelled his event on August 15.

What we don't know. Whether any of this cable-news saturation actually moves Democratic leadership, who have so far ranged from silent to "this shows weakness" (that was Ro Khanna, August 20). We also don't know if Piker's defamation suit against Scott Jennings and Harris Faulkner has formally been filed, or if it remains in prep.

What the scoreboard says. Piker predicted Fox would cover him because "it'll be ratings gold." Hugh Hewitt just confirmed, on Fox, that he literally cannot stop. That is not a denial. That is a confession.
