He Said His Piece. Now the Other Guy Is Talking.
For weeks, one half of a famous falling-out has controlled the narrative. That may be changing.
Picture a man who once rode a skateboard through a living room rigged with ramps, grinning at a chat window full of strangers paying to yell at him. Picture, also, how he got there: years of public unraveling, a franchise exit he calls a setup, a press cycle in which he described his former collaborators in terms a diplomat would not use. For weeks, this particular half of a famous estrangement has had the floor almost entirely to himself.
According to reporting published July 17 by Yahoo, that arrangement has shifted. Johnny Knoxville has, allegedly, spoken out about what actually happened between Bam Margera and Jackass: Best and Last. Separately, a piece published the same day purports to explain the long-running feud between Bam and the late Roger Ebert, a subplot this correspondent had not previously seen catalogued in full. History will note that it is rarely good when your adversaries start filling in the blanks. The Fishtank Season 5 host, for his part, has not publicly responded. Yet.
