Hasan Piker Said the US Is Worse Than al-Qaeda 'Pound for Pound.' The Receipts Are Right Here.

He went on The Axios Show. On purpose. And said it out loud.

Darlings, Hasan Piker told Axios on September 17th that the United States is, quote, "pound for pound" worse than al-Qaeda in "number of deaths" and that "we have caused tremendous terror." Per the Axios report, he stood by calling America the "top dog in terrorism." He then apparently did a full media blitz, because the man does not do things quietly.

And if this feels familiar, it is because the "God-Given Right" to hate America era was only four days ago. We love growth.

Here are the receipts, laid out neatly for your consideration.

1. The Axios quote itself. Per Axios and confirmed by The Hill's Rising segment, Piker said the US is "pound for pound" worse than al-Qaeda, framing it around death counts. He did not walk it back. He apparently walked toward it.
2. The MS NOW interview. According to Fox News coverage and a YouTube clip of the exchange, MS NOW hosts pressed Piker in what multiple outlets described as a "fiery" interview. Per Modern Ghana's write-up of the clip, hosts told him he has "never elected ANYBODY" to office. A valid point, delivered at volume. Piker apparently held his position.
3. El-Sayed's very fast bus reversal. According to AOL and Yahoo write-ups, Abdul El-Sayed "threw Hasan Piker under the bus" to reject the al-Qaeda take. Per The Economic Times, El-Sayed also dismissed Piker ties by saying "voters aren't asking" and suggesting critics "come to Michigan." Darling, that is not a denial of the friendship, that is a pivot with tire marks on it.
4. Mike Rogers escalating. Per the Washington Examiner, Rogers called El-Sayed the "most anti-American candidate" specifically because of the Piker affiliation. Rogers, who per the known timeline skipped a Michigan Senate debate two days ago over alleged favoritism, is now apparently very interested in showing up rhetorically.
5. Rep. Cuellar going further. Per the San Antonio Current, Rep. Henry Cuellar stated that Piker's planned University of Texas visit would make Jewish students "unsafe." This goes beyond his earlier criticism logged September 15th, adding a specific safety framing to the university fight.
6. Zeteo's Trump comparison. Per Zeteo, the outlet published a piece noting that Donald Trump has also made statements about America causing deaths abroad, framing Piker's comment in that context. A move. Whether it lands is another matter entirely.
7. Cornell is next. Per the Cornell Daily Sun, Piker is reportedly scheduled to speak at Sage Hall. No date given in the report. Campus America is apparently not done with him.

El-Sayed has now publicly distanced himself from the al-Qaeda take, which is presumably step one of a longer journey. We wish him strength in this trying time of his own making.
