Hasan Piker Now Has a Recurring Slot in a Fox News Newsletter. He Has Arrived.
The 'Campus Radicals' newsletter just dropped his name next to 'Christianity rejected' and 'violence glorified.' That is not a takedown. That is a subscription driver.
Fox News has given Hasan Piker a newsletter. Not his newsletter. Their newsletter. He is now a recurring feature.
The outlet's "Campus Radicals" dispatch, per the edition that surfaced October 3rd, apparently brackets him alongside headlines about Christianity being rejected and violence being glorified on campus. Darlings, that is not journalism. That is a mood board. And Piker is the centerpiece.
Here is what nobody wants to say out loud: this is the ballgame. When a media apparatus the size of Fox News builds a recurring institutional product around your name, you have stopped being a controversy and started being infrastructure. Rush Limbaugh was infrastructure. Fox is not trying to cancel Hasan Piker. Fox is trying to retire on him.
The NRSC, the Senate Republicans' own campaign committee, was already running Piker content on their website as of September 30th, per their own feed. The Australian picked up the Talarico "play ball" story this week. A Twitch streamer who, according to the Guardian just days ago, most Americans still cannot identify is now international political copy. Something is happening here.
And if this feels familiar, it is because the pattern is identical to what Republicans did with AOC in 2019 and 2020: manufacture the villain, run the villain in every special election mailer, watch the villain's Q Score climb. The WCIV report from last week noted that Young Democratic Socialists were chanting "From the river to the sea" at Piker events alongside AOC events. Congratulations, he has been formally bracketed with a sitting congresswoman in the conservative threat matrix.
The audacity is that none of this is accidental. The Campus Radicals Newsletter needs campus radicals. Piker, allegedly, is happy to oblige.
My loves, the man did not become a Fox News newsletter item by accident. He became one because it is mutually beneficial, and everyone pretending otherwise is the real story. Prediction: by next quarter, his follower count ticks up and a Republican PAC runs his face in a Senate race he has never mentioned.
