And per Yahoo News, Hasan Piker was among the far-left figures who immediately reached for the McCarthy comparison, loudly and publicly, which is a very specific choice when the actual question on the table is about money.

Here is the thing about invoking McCarthyism. It works, politically, when the accusation is baseless ideology-policing with no underlying predicate. It works considerably less well when investigators are allegedly following a $39 million paper trail. Those are different situations. Piker knows this. His audience knows this. And yet.

This is a man who wore a Mao suit to a College Democrats speech, got named on a State Department list, told the mayor of New York City to shut up, and is now apparently positioning 'they're witch-hunting us' as his unified theory of everything. The circle is tightening, and the rhetorical response from inside it has been to gesture at 1950s Senate hearings.

We love growth. We love accountability. What we do not love is watching someone with genuine political reach treat 'McCarthy' as a skeleton key that unlocks every door, including doors with legitimate questions behind them.

And if this feels familiar, it is because Piker has spent this entire month cycling through escalation and victimhood in near-perfect rotation. State Department list. Restraining order threat. Mao suit. AOC endorsement. Historian charging gaslighting. Now: 'McCarthy trials.' It is a journey.
