Hasan Piker Called a Congressman's Wife Indian. Also He Praised Mao. Rahm Emanuel Has Thoughts. It Has Been a Day.

Darlings, we open on a congressman getting owned at the speed of light.

Texas Rep. Brandon Gill, apparently feeling brave, went after Hasan Piker this week on the subject of "birth tourism." Piker's response, per the Hindustan Times report, was four words: "Your wife is Indian." Goodnight, everyone.

But that was merely the appetizer. The main course arrived courtesy of Piker's ongoing Axios interview rollout, which continues to produce clips the way a broken pipe produces water. Let us lay out what surfaced on September 18 alone.

1. The bin Laden take. According to Fox News, citing the Axios interview, Piker called Osama bin Laden a "spoiled brat" who "didn't get his way" and labeled 9/11 "blowback." Spoiled brat. That is doing a lot of rhetorical work for a man responsible for nearly 3,000 deaths, allegedly.
2. The Mao defense. Per the Washington Examiner, Piker defended his praise of Mao Zedong "despite millions of deaths under his rule." Mike Pompeo told Fox News the take was "nutso," which is technically the least controversial thing Pompeo has ever said.
3. Rahm Emanuel enters the chat. The Washington Examiner reports that Emanuel called Piker "vile" and "hateful" and said he should not be taken seriously. This from a man whose own political career is a journey. We love when establishment Democrats discover their spine on live television.
4. Eric Schmitt piles on. Fox News reports that Sen. Schmitt slammed Democrats over their ties to Piker. We will note this is the same political party currently trying to decide whether Piker is an asset or a liability, and the answer appears to change every four hours.
5. Piker says El-Sayed is making a "mistake." Per Axios, Piker himself went on record calling El-Sayed's distancing strategy a "mistake." He is not wrong, strategically speakingand that is the most unsettling sentence we have typed all week.

And if this feels familiar, it's because Piker has spent the last decade treating provocation as product. The al-Qaeda "pound for pound" quote already broke the internet this week. The Iran nukes take already made Fetterman tap out. The man is not running out of material.

The Deseret News asked, per their headline, what happens when Piker leaves his livestream echo chamber. Based on this 48-hour stretch, my loves, the answer is: everyone else enters it instead.
