The conservative press has found its summer villain, darlings, and he streams on Twitch.

It has now been roughly 48 hours since Hasan Piker told Charlamagne the God that Israel does not have a right to exist "in its current formation," and the quote has completed its full journey through the right-wing media digestive system. Fox News ran it. The Washington Times ran it. Yahoo aggregated both. And then, thena publication called Public Discourse posted a piece titled "The Paganism of Hasan Piker." A pagan. They called him a pagan. We are living in a rich time.

Here is the thing nobody at Fox is saying out loud: this coverage is the best thing that could possibly happen to a left-wing streamer's brand. Every angry segment is a clip. Every think-piece is a search spike. Every Washington Times reader who googles his name for the first time is a potential subscriber who discovers a guy who was already banned from Britain and somehow kept going.

The New York Post, per a June 3 piece resurfacing this week, also apparently has feelings about his viewing habits. A journey. They are very invested in this man's internet history.

And if this feels familiar, it's because Piker has been through this cycle before. The machine gets loud, he refuses to walk anything back, the clips spread, the follower count does not go down. He said this week, per reporting, that he will not moderate his Gaza stance. That is not a pivot. That is not a strategy meeting. That is a man who has calculated, correctly or not, that the outrage is the product.
