According to Dexerto's September 3 report, the Twitch streamer has told fans that ad blocking is, in his word, "stealing," while simultaneously endorsing it on the grounds that advertising on platforms like YouTube became so aggressive that creators couldn't make money anyway. That's the reasoning, per the Times of India's September 2 coverage of the same clip. The advertiser broke the system, so theft is fine.

This is, for the record, a coherent position. It is also a position that requires you to hold "this is stealing" and "steal freely" in the same hand and call it a grip.

The contradiction would be unremarkable if Asmongold were just some guy. He is not just some guy. He is a streamer whose income depends on platform ad revenue, who advised colleagues on September 2 to maintain a curated public image as a kind of secondary professional persona, and who has spent the better part of two weeks generating headlines by saying things that seem to contradict other things he has said. The ad blocker take is almost quaint by comparison.

What makes this worth documenting is the pattern, not the individual take. A man tells you image management is a professional skill.
