A Streamer Has Some Advice About Public Image. LSF Has Some Questions About That.

Somewhere out there, a very famous World of Warcraft streamer sat down on September 2 and delivered what he called his best advice for anyone in a public-facing career. The quote, clipped and posted to r/LivestreamFail, goes like this: "If you're a streamer or if you're anybody in a public space, you need to treat your public image like a secondary personality. Whenever people are mad at you, they're not really mad at you, they're mad at your public image."

Useful framework. For the record, the same r/LivestreamFail that surfaced the advice also, on the same date, surfaced a separate thread. The title of that thread described him as a "noted enemy of antisemitism" and alleged he maintains a vocabulary of slurs for one particular group. The thread does not name the group outright. The title does, in its way, with parentheses.

What happens next: Whether the streamer addresses the September 2 LSF thread directly, and whether the "secondary personality" framing becomes part of that response, remains to be seen.
