A Prominent Twitch Streamer Just Got Called a 'White Nationalist.' The Accuser Is HasanAbi. The Subject Has Had a Very Busy Week.
The France video was uploaded October 1. The 'white nationalism' label arrived six days later. Here is the paper trail.
A streamer who has spent the better part of two weeks generating coverage about women in games, WoW guild drama, Gorgeous Doll, and the finer points of why he would accept another ban has now acquired a new label. On October 7, a rival streamer publicly accused him of "white nationalism," citing comments made about protests in France. The accusation was picked up the same day by The Times of India, inkl, and NDTV Sports.
For the record: the video in question, titled "France is F***ed..," went up on YouTube on October 1. The white nationalism allegation, according to reporting across those three outlets, came from HasanAbi. The streamer on the receiving end is Asmongold. This is, by available count, at least the second HasanAbi callout in under seven days, following an earlier exchange over what critics described as a "slavery take."
What happens next
Whether Asmongold addresses the "white nationalism" characterization on stream, whether HasanAbi specifies which France protest comments prompted the accusation, and what if anything either platform does with the situation are all unresolved as of October 8.
