On September 9, New York City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino appeared on Fox News to discuss Piker's 9/11 commentary and, per reporting from Mediaite and Yahoo, told him to "go back to where you came from" and specifically demanded he "go back to Turkey." Piker was born in New Jersey. He is a naturalized American citizen. Darling, that is not a rebuttal.

Meanwhile, according to Action Network, Piker's arrest odds on Polymarket have "plummeted in the last 24 hours" after being listed as an active market as recently as September 8. Whether that reflects a genuine shift in the information environment or just bettors sobering up from the discourse fever remains, per their framing, an open question.

And then there is Ted Cruz, who apparently committed what The Mirror US is calling a "humiliating porn gaffe on 9/11," which Piker then mocked publicly. We wish Senator Cruz strength in this trying time of his own making. The irony of 9/11 week's main content story becoming a Cruz own-goal rather than a Piker takedown is the kind of structural failure that keeps political consultants awake at night.
